The exploratory meeting was held on 31 May 1994. The Group was registered with the Collaboration on 5 October 1994. The editorial base was established on 1 January 1995. The Group is housed within the Wolfson Unit for the Prevention of Peripheral Vascular Diseases at the University of Edinburgh. The Unit provides a strong research base in the epidemiology and treatment of peripheral vascular diseases. The PVD Group has been funded by the Chief Scientist Office of the Scottish Executive (formerly the Scottish Office) since 1 January 1995.
